Honouring the loss of a cat by allowing their love to live on through another…
Losing our darling boy Arlo shattered us. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss him, and the hole he left will never truly heal. But we realised that the most beautiful way to honour his memory is to give another little soul in need the same chance at happiness that Arlo got when we first rescued him.
Arlo’s journey from a frightened, fragile boy to the happiest, most spoiled and adored cat ever is the proudest achievement of our lives. The love we carry for him is far too precious to go to waste when it could save another wee cat who’s still waiting for someone to believe in him.
It was all in the eyes…
We didn’t think we would ever be ready for another cat, but suddenly it felt like we were sent a sign that we couldn’t ignore.
A post came up desperately trying to find a home for this sweet little soul, found on the streets weighing only 1.5kg and covered in cigarette burns. It was clear he had been tortured by humans. And when we looked into his big blue eyes we just saw our boy looking back at us saying “Please give him the chance you gave me”.
We knew he had to join our family
Our new baby boy will be joining us in the next few weeks and we can’t wait to give him the life he deserves…
Arlo was one of a kind and no cat will ever replace him. But the love we have for him is so special that it deserves to be shared - and now it will live on through this wee boy.
Giving back to his heroes
To thank the heroes at Clan McCat Rescue who stepped in to save our boy we’ve set up a fundraiser in his honour.
Every donation will go directly to putting food in empty tummies, wrapping warmth around cold paws and showing these vulnerable wee souls what true love is.
Clan McCat is small Scottish rescue ran entirely by volunteers and we are so in awe of the work they do, especially for such a small charity. The stories they have shared with us are absolutely heartbreaking but the way they have transformed these cat’s lives is nothing short of incredible.
Together we can change so much more than just nine lives!
